In March 2006 a bold step was taken. Against the
odds BPIF Cartons, supported by Pro Carton
staged an annual conference that proved to be an
inspirational event for carton converters.
Converters overcame initial reluctance to attend
and through sheer determination and
considerable effort by organisers and supporting
companies alike they ultimately bit the bullet.
What a great decision they made.
The organiser’s proposition was that by meeting,
listening, debating, learning and sharing, carton
converters would be more inspired and grow
stronger as a united group than they would by
remaining apart.
Top of the Class
The delegates feed back from the Carton
Conference 2006 was nothing short of amazing,
not only did the scores exceed even the most
optimistic forecast, but they expressly confirmed
that after a two years time lapse they felt it would
be the right to hold another conference.
Twelve months have passed since that time and
in a recent survey, held at a Belfast meeting,
converters reinforced the earlier findings by
demanding a March 2008 conference.
The simple rule in marketing is - give customers
what they want and they will buy from you – so
with such ringing endorsements the plan is to do
just that and build on the newly found confidence
in the sector. Companies who supported the last
conference shared in the benefits and gained
considerable recognition from the converter
audience in terms of appreciation, brand/product
promotion and ‘contact’ development.
The 2008 event will deliver that and more – but
